Pegasus
Pegasus, also known as The Winged Horse, is of course named after the Greek Mythological creature. Though
this constellation doesn't quite look like a winged horse. It is a square known as The Great Square of Pegasus, with three
extensions that make the rest of it. This constellation contains a total of 15 stars!
Notable Stars in Pegasus
- Enif: The brightest star that creates the horses nose. This star is a orange supergiant
- Markab: A blue-white giant represting the saddle. This star is in the southwest corner of the Great Square
- Scheat: A red giant on the northwest corner of the Great Square which represents the leg/shoulder
- Algenib: A blue-white super giant that creates the south east corner of the Great Square
- Alpheratz: Creates the north east corner of the Great Square
- 51 Pegasi: This star is sun-like and the first to have an exoplanet (51 pegasi b) discovered oribiting it. Located on the side
of the square between Markab and Scheat
